Twelve companies have joined to form the CAPTure project team. The work develops the next generation of concentrated solar power, aimed at cutting generation cost. Five tracks:
- High-efficiency volumetric solar collectors
- De-coupled regenerative heat exchangers
- High-pressure intercooled Brayton hot air turbine
- Low-cost heliostat with advanced aiming
- Multiple-tower approach to cut ray losses and modularise the station
Bluebox Energy supplies the Brayton hot air turbine. Partners include CENER (coordination and collector), Tekniker, Fraunhofer IKTS, CEA, FCT, Haver & Boecker, CIEMAT-PSA, Flagsol, K-Controls, Électricité de France, Sonceboz and EUREC.
